Astel Modular, in collaboration with residential buildings developer Norrterna, has taken on the challenge to design and manufacture wooden buildings that are 8-9 floor high for the new apartment building projects in Karlskrona. Although the wooden construction technologies are evolving rapidly, it is uncommon to see wooden buildings over 5 storeys high.
One of the latest completed works of Astel Modular is a complex of four apartment buildings in Bandhagen, Stockholm. As usual, we completed the prefabricated modules for the buildings in our house factories and transported them for assembly in Stockholm.

Astel Modular is excited to start the production of our first apartment building project in Norway. As of today, the designs and details have been confirmed with the client and the production work has begun. The modules are scheduled to be completed by the beginning of August and the installations work is set to begin right afterwards.
The prefabricated modules of the Kristalli Ilves project are currently under construction, but thanks to some 3D rendering, we are able to give you a peek into the beautiful interior design solutions of the project.
Having gathered extensive experience on the Swedish and Finnish modular building market, Astel is now entering the Norwegian market. We will start with three projects in 2019 - one in the spring, one in the summer, and one at the end of the year. The first project is an apartment building with a total of 52 apartments in a ski resort in central Norway. The apartment building is constructed with the purpose to provide long term accommodation for the resort employees.

Astel Modular will start working on a new commercial real estate project in Riihimäki, Finland.
The new modular apartment project consists of 300 apartments in 9 apartment buildings with a total living area of 13,500 m2 – making it one of the biggest modular building projects in Scandinavia. Astel Modular will be the main contractor for the project, starting in 2019 and carrying on to 2020. This is the first time a Baltic modular house factory is leading a project of this scale in Scandinavia.
In 2018, Astel Modular contributed to the goals of integrated Stockholm by manufacturing and installing a new modular apartment building in the Vällingby area. The building was ordered to take a step closer to meeting the city’s housing goals and the city made a substantial investment to complete the project in the set timeframe.
There is already a saying going around that your next real estate project won’t be built - it will be manufactured. Does it mean that the future of construction is going to be modular?
